Optimization-Design and Atomization-Performance Study of Aerial Dual-Atomization Centrifugal Atomizer

The aerial atomizer is the most essential component of plant protection UAV (unmanned vehicle). However, structural optimization existing atomizers lacks comprehensive consideration spray parameters and parameters, there a shortage available models, resulting in unstable effect application. In our previous work, an dual-atomization centrifugal was developed. order to obtain with good atomization its model, at different rotation speeds flow rates atomizer, performance, are studied this paper. Firstly, droplet volume median diameter (VMD) spectral width (SRW) as evaluation index, through single-factor, Plackett–Burman Box–Behnken tests, influence speed, rate, tooth number shape were studied. regression models VMD SRW established using multiple quadratic fitting test data. Secondly, achieve lowest SRW, response surface method post-hoc comparison used optimized structure atomizer’s ring (600–7000 r/min) (500–1000 mL/min). Lastly, effective swath (ESW) test, rate height model ESW results indicated that had significant on SRW; no however, square best effect; ESW. shape: square, number: 20. determination coefficient R2 VMD, 0.9976, 0.9770 0.9974, respectively, which indicates accurate, can evaluate predict effect. This paper provides for applications provide reference efficient spraying.
